    Description

For sale is a handsome, vintage mirror-plateau...the metal frame is made of either gilt brass or bronze...in used but very good condition.
From a local estate...see our eBay seller's list for more fresh finds.
The design appears to be an art deco inspiration...1920's? Heavy. The mirror is 14" in diameter and has a scalloped beveled edge. The brass frame rests on 5 feet. The molded design appears to mimic hieroglyphics or runes so we guessed maybe 1920's post the opening of a certain Egyptian king's tomb. No marks that we can find. The condition of the metal is very good with no breaks or cracks. No losses. There is some spotting and wear to the gilt finish which still has a very nice overall patina. None of that wear stands out but is seen upon closer inspection. The mirror is still quite nice but has a few scratches, an inconsequential spot or two and some minor cloudiness. Tight, solid construction. The honest wear seems appropriate and forgivable...quite charming in fact. A lovely way to present your art deco perfume bottles, that special tchotchke or vase of flowers. See all the photos for the form, frame and mirror design and condition which seems very good with the observations we noted. It's an unusual design compared to the mirror plateaus usually found.
